Elektromotive offer a complete “turn-key” installation service from start to finish. Alternatively we can work with your contractors if required, specify materials and advise them on any relevant technical information with regard to an Elektrobay installation. However we do recommend you use our “turn key” solution to maintain the quality and integrity of the installation. The work will be project managed and you will have none of the pain or the strain, just sit back and wait for the power to flow. We will be happy to give you a competitive quote for installation but remember each site is different and will require a site survey in order for us to give you an accurate cost.
We can also offer a design service and supply of signs for your site and information stickers for application onto the Elektrobay. Call us to discuss your requirements.
The Elektrobay is available in two versions. One is designed for on street and side walk applications, the other is a wall mounted version for multi story car parks or situations were the ground surface cannot be disturbed. The functionality of the recharging stations is the same in both types.
For a typical on-street installation the Elektrobay is bolted, via a hidden fixing system, to a galvanized steel foundation post or “ground anchor”. The ground anchor is cast into concrete in a hole 300mm x 300mm x 600mm deep using a “PAV1” concrete with an “S2” slump. A foundation of this size will result in a mass of about 150kg reducing the chance of the foundation post being displaced by either a vehicle impact or human intervention. The Elektrobay has other features reducing damage in the case of a vehicle strike. Where “PAV1” concrete is not available a substitute concrete should be used that is resistant to freeze-thaw damage and road salt corrosion. Elektromotive can custom design ground anchors were there are limited dimensions available below ground level.
An armoured SWA cable of suitable electrical specification enters the ground anchor from ducting below the ground surface. This SWA cable should be in 35mm ducting within the anchor fed from a 100mm ducting running from the main power supply.

The wall mounted Elektrobay is ideal for multistorey car parks or installations where the ground surface cannot be disturbed or there is limited depth to install a ground foundation post. In most cases a surface mounted armoured cable would run from the nearest electrical mains switch board to each Elektrobay. We can also run cable in conduit if required. When choosing where to position you‘re Elektrobays they should ideally be as close to the Electrical distribution board as possible and there should be a 16amp MCB available for each Elektrobay. (U.K. only. Other Countries may require a different specification). Our qualified electrical engineers can advise on the electrical requirements at each installation.
A yellow crash barrier is available for the wall mounted Elektrobay. This will save any damage happening to the recharging station through careless parking. We recommend this option is used to avoid costly damage to your recharging stations. Each Elektrobay and crash barrier is fixed to the wall using 100mm M8 Hilti type expansion bolts. The combined weight of the Elektrobay and crash barrier is about 23 Kilos.

Many on-street or sidewalk installations require an electrical feeder pillar to be installed before the Elektrobay. This is because in most instances the power supply has to come from a metered supply. You also need a means of isolating the Elektrobay from the electrical supply in an emergency or for servicing.
City Councils and Local Authorities are working hard to reduce street clutter. Many of our customers were not happy with the feeder pillars available from their regular suppliers. They felt they were too bulky and wanted to combine a sign with the pillar, thus combining two items into one. We listened to what our customers had to say.
We then embarked on designing our own slim line feeder pillar which combines a pole for fixing signage if required. It is also available without the integrated pole.
Our feeder pillar comes pre-wired with a mains distribution box allowing for up to six Elektrobays to be supplied from this one pillar. They also have room for an electricity meter and supply. You would arrange for this to be supplied and fitted by your local electricity networks company.
