The yellow coiled cable is an important aid to maintaining the safety of public EV recharging stations. Its main purpose is to avoid as much as possible the trip hazard a standard mains cable would cause if it were laid onto the walkway or car park floor. The yellow coiled lead never causes a hazard in this way. The yellow coiled cable supplied by Elektromotive is of a very high industrial quality. It extends from approximately 1 metre to 3.5 metres.

Whilst almost any cable up to 9mm in diameter can be used with the Elektrobay many Authorities and owners of electric vehicle recharging stations are insisting on yellow coiled leads being used. They avoid the trip hazard and are highly visible.
